We believe community transformation happens face-to-face, on the ground, and through trust. PXLB & Friends is our signature event series—bringing together families, local leaders, resource providers, and partner organizations to create joyful, healing-centered spaces where everyone is supported.
Each event is an opportunity to reduce barriers, spark connection, and celebrate resilience—while delivering real-time impact and measurable outcomes that matter to families and funders alike.
Loads of Kindness: Restoring Dignity, One Load at a Time
At PXLB, we know that clean clothing is more than a basic need—it’s a matter of dignity, self-worth, and belonging. Loads of Kindness provides free laundry services, hygiene kits, and care-centered support to students, seniors, and unhoused neighbors across Long Beach.
Whether it’s helping a child feel confident at school, a parent show up for work, or a neighbor reclaim a sense of stability, we meet each individual where they are—with compassion and consistency.
Through our Fluff & Fold initiative, we extend this care directly to those most often overlooked—seniors on fixed incomes and community members experiencing homelessness. In trusted neighborhood locations, we offer more than laundry—we offer connection, conversation, and respect.
Youth and Family Day was more than a seasonal event—it was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when community, intention, and collaboration come together. Hosted by Project X LB at the historic Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Long Beach, the event welcomed hundreds of families for a day of joy, dignity, and meaningful support.
Instead of focusing on giveaways alone, we prioritized connection to critical resources—ensuring families had what they needed to thrive during the summer and beyond. From school uniforms that helped students start the season with confidence, to thousands of diapers for our youngest neighbors, every detail reflected our commitment to meeting needs with compassion and care.
This day demonstrated that while one event can uplift, sustained access and advocacy create lasting impact. Project X LB remains dedicated to walking alongside families—not just for a day, but for the long haul.
Together, we’re not just supporting families—we’re building the future they deserve.
Spring Into Summer was more than a celebration—it was a launchpad for a stronger, more supported season for Long Beach families. Hosted by Project X LB in collaboration with trusted local partners, this vibrant kickoff event at Martin Luther King Jr. Park brought together hundreds of families for a day rooted in joy, dignity, and access.
Rather than centering giveaways alone, the event focused on connecting families with the resources, tools, and information they need to thrive throughout the summer and beyond.
Why It Matters
For many families, summer presents challenges—loss of structure, access gaps, and increased financial strain. Spring Into Summer addressed these challenges directly by bringing together tangible support and joyful engagement in one trusted, community-centered space.
“It wasn’t just fun. It was helpful, thoughtful, and exactly what our family needed.” — PXLB Parent
The event may be over, but PXLB’s commitment to family wellness, youth empowerment, and year-round access continues. Together, we’re not just celebrating the season—we’re strengthening futures.
The Winter Jamboree 2024 was more than a seasonal event—it was a powerful demonstration of what’s possible when local partnerships, community pride, and shared purpose come together. Hosted by Project X LB in collaboration with The SIX, the day brought joy, support, and meaningful connection to families from the Ramona Park neighborhood and beyond.
Together with our generous partners and dedicated volunteers, we transformed a cold winter day into a celebration of warmth, unity, and resilience.
Every moment—from dancing in the grass to sharing hot cocoa—reflected our deep commitment to creating safe, joyful spaces where families feel valued and seen.
We extend our deepest thanks to the organizations and individuals who helped make this event possible:
Moments of joy, trust, and connection carry deep meaning in neighborhoods too often overlooked. The Winter Jamboree reflects PXLB’s belief that every family deserves more than survival—they deserve celebration, care, and community.
This is what equity in action looks like.
Last year’s Thanksgiving Family Turkey Giveaway was a powerful expression of what community care looks like in action. Hosted by Project X LB in partnership with The SIX, the event brought together neighbors, volunteers, and local partners in a shared mission to ensure no family went without a warm, nourishing holiday meal.
In just two hours, we distributed over 4,000 essential items—including stuffing, seasonings, lemonade, and aluminum trays—ensuring families had not only the ingredients, but the tools to prepare their meals with dignity and pride.
At the heart of it all, we provided:
This wasn’t just a food distribution—it was a moment of connection, joy, and shared humanity. For families navigating financial stress, the event offered more than a meal. It offered dignity, belonging, and the reminder that they are not alone.
We’re deeply grateful to our donors, partners, and volunteers whose generosity made this day possible. Your support delivered more than food—you delivered hope.
“This is what community care looks like—coming together to lift each other up, one family at a time.”
We’re already planning for next year—and with your help, we can make an even greater impact.
