Offering Washers, Dryers, and Complimentary Laundry Services for Schools, Seniors, and Unhoused Individuals
The Gentle Care Program at Project X LB addresses absenteeism by providing washers and dryers to elementary and middle schools in LA County, along with hygiene supplies. The program supports students' well-being and empowers them to thrive in a positive school environment by ensuring they have access to clean clothing and essential hygiene products. Additionally, Loads of Kindness, under the Gentle Care Program, transforms laundromats into community centers, connecting community members to vital resources while offering free laundry services to seniors, unhoused individuals, and college-aged youth. Through these initiatives, the Gentle Care Program promotes personal well-being for individuals across all ages and circumstances.
Poor attendance and potential bullying are significant concerns. Students may feel ashamed to attend school if their attire isn't tidy, particularly those from homeless or doubled-up families. Moreover, the fear of ridicule due to unclean or odorous clothing can deter students from engaging socially, hindering their academic progress and goals.

I am a single mother of a child with special needs. Due to the fact that they wanted me to work full time when I was unable to do so, I lost my job. As a result, I used the little bit of income I received to pay my bills. I have used all the money I saved up to wash my son's swimming clothes so that he can participate in swimming lessons. I was also able to wash everything in my house as a result of this. I and my son's clothes, as well as all of our bedsheets.

I would like to thank you for all your help and kindness throughout this program. In the past few months, I have been going through a lot emotionally and physically, which has taken a toll on my body. The laundry has been piling up for months because I have not been able to pay for it. In the absence of this program, I would have had to choose between getting food for dinner or cleaning our clothes today. It has been at least two months since we last had clean clothes. As a result of your assistance, I was able to do nine loads of laundry today, which has been a great blessing to my family. I wanted to cry so badly from joy, happiness, and relief that someone had been able to assist me and my family. My sincere thanks go out to you for all your blessings and much love. Thanks for your good work in helping people in need.
