Marcus Hobbs, a dedicated Long Beach native, is deeply committed to enhancing his community. A proud graduate of CSULB, Marcus combines his academic background with a strong commitment to service in Long Beach. He has honed his leadership skills through Leadership Long Beach and is currently pursuing a degree at Howard University School of Social Work, focusing on applying social work skills from a Black perspective to address community needs.
Marcus advocates for holistic solutions to some of the nation's most pressing issues.
Through his active involvement with local non-profits, Marcus organizes community events and programs tackling critical issues such as affordable housing, education, and youth empowerment. His grassroots initiatives have fostered partnerships with government officials and community leaders to advocate for positive change and create a brighter future for Long Beach residents. Marcus is the visionary founder of Project X LB, driven by his profound dedication to community improvement. He is on a mission to transform Long Beach into an even better place to live, one project at a time.
Emily Kazim has over a decade of experience in the Long Beach nonprofit sector. She is a graduate of the Leadership Long Beach Institute Class of 2022 and an active member of Fountain of Life Covenant Church. Emily loves Long Beach and has found much joy and purpose in leveraging her skills and experience to support her fellow Long Beach residents' pursuit of healthy, safe, and fulfilled lives.
Emily is a wife and mother, a lover of the outdoors, music, reading, and anything her husband cooks. She looks forward to contributing to the good work of Project X LB.
